Life Underwater

Laura is developing her dark comedy, Life Underwater, for stage and screen. 

With second home owning turning the Cornish village of Smugglesands from a thriving community into a ghost town, Morwenna takes matters into her own hands, but how far is too far, and is home really worth risking everything for? 

Life Underwater is a dark comedy inspired by American Psycho and Under Milk Wood. The future ambition for the play is to present a variety of traditional shanties alongside original shanties written in collaboration with Cornish communities affected by second home owning.

The play received a reading at the Criterion Theatre and Laura has been supported by a week’s residency at Hawkwood through Bristol Old Vic to continue working on it.
