Meet the Team
We first met in a coffee shop in Edinburgh in 2023 to discuss Laura’s idea for her latest play Lynn Faces. By 2024, we returned with a fully realised show and the support of three producing theatres: New Diorama Theatre, Norwich Theatre, and Theatre Royal Plymouth. The play went on to win the Birds of Paradise Exceptional Theatre Award and garnered glowing reviews.
We quickly realised that rather than wait for things to happen, we had to make the opportunities we wanted to see in the world. With decades of experience spanning writing, producing, directing, communications, audience development, programming, PR, audio production and filmmaking and a number of awards between us, we knew we were stronger together.
Meet the team
Laura Horton
Laura is a multi-award-winning writer and was the first playwright Laureate of Plymouth from 2020-23.
Her debut play Labyrinth Diet was an OFFCOMM winner in 2021. Her follow-up Breathless was awarded the Pleasance Regional Partnership. It won a Fringe First, was a finalist for the Popcorn Award and was shortlisted for other prestigious prizes. The show enjoyed runs at Soho Theatre and 59e59 Off-Broadway in 2023, where it was New York Times critic’s pick and nominated for a Drama Desk Award. She has written several short plays. Her first short film, A Summer of Birds, was Toast of the Fringe winner in 2021.
Laura was an Artistic Associate of the Barbican Theatre Plymouth in 2024, she co-wrote and directed Ciderella for the theatre in 2024. Laura presented her play Lynn Faces at Edinburgh Fringe 2024 where it won the Birds Of Paradise Exceptional Theatre Award. Lynn Faces toured to Norwich Theatre, Exeter Barnfield, Theatre Royal Plymouth and New Diorama Theatre in early 2025. An associate of The Space, Laura launched digital projects Hidden by Things and Theatre Stories, for which she was in The Stage100. Laura was on BBC Voices South in 2023. Laura also runs Bad Sex Writing workshops and shows. She is represented by United Agents.

Naomi Turner
Naomi is an award-winning freelance producer, theatremaker and filmmaker, and recipient of the Stage One Producer Bursary.
Theatre Credits include Lynn Faces (Summerhall, Edinburgh & UK tour), Scaffolding (Pleasance, Bristol Old Vic & UK tour), Us Against the World (Theatre Royal Plymouth), Mary & the Matrons (Exeter Barnfield Theatre), and The Beat of our Hearts (Exeter Northcott).
She is Co-Director of Documental Productions C.I.C. (Associate Artists, Exeter Northcott) who create national theatre tours of new writing theatre, original music, film & audio, working with a network of award-winning disabled, neurodivergent & carer creatives. Naomi has also produced the last four Christmas co-productions for Quirk Theatre at Exeter Phoenix, and is currently producing part-time for rural arts organisation Villages in Action. Naomi co-produced Exeter Northcott Theatre’s first Reclaim Festival in November 2024. She was previously Performance Programmer at Exeter Phoenix (2017-2022) and Programme Producer at Exeter Northcott (2019-2020).
She has directed & produced multi-award-winning short dance films as Co-Artistic Director of LeMoon. Film credits include WAKE (2020) which won the Audience Choice Award (LA Dance Shorts Film Festival, 2020), Best Cinematography (London Rocks Film Festival,) Judges Spotlight Selection Award (Utah Dance Film Festival, 2020), Best Film (Devon) (English Riviera Film Festival, 2021), Best Home Grown in the South West & Best Soundtrack/Music (Exeter Dance Intl. Film Festival, 2022), and Scapelands which was awarded the BBC New Creatives commission (2019) and was selected for it’s TV premiere within Dance on Film: BBC Introducing Arts (BBC4) presented by Carlos Acosta.
